supposed to be consultation time

Our scheduled consultation time is supposed to be every Monday but it was moved to Wednesday because our consultant noticed that we are always in school uniform every time we go at USP and the people are always looking at us. The more, that the three of us has different shades of pink uniform.

We plan to meet 10:30 in the morning. I was late, and i am sorry. Arriving there, i texted Engr. Cagape unfortunately, he was not around so we just went to school. It was supposed to be our 1st Meeting in the new scheduled consultation time. He texted me that he will be available in the afternoon but we have a meeting with the 3rd year students for our uniform that’s why we no longer went there.

That night, i texted him again for another appointment but he did not reply. He was busy maybe.

a group visit

My groupmates commented that when it comes to doing project, assignments, reporting "halinon kaayo ko". It is because they always feel comfortable asking for my help. The whole class has been very busy for doing the documentation for our thesis that was said to be defended this Monday but on a deeper thought, the set deadline seems to be unrealistic. Still, it’s a good thing though we were given such because it made us be busy and be prepared.

My phone was very busy because of the many text messages that i’ve received including landline calls. Mona, Jonathan and Gerald went to Leizl’s house to ask something about the docu and for their reporting also tomorrow. I tell you, i could feel the pressure and tiredness they have been experiencing. Sinabay pa naman ang reporting at ang defense deadline.

It was the PBB’s second edition pilot episode also. It kinda deviated our attention doing our task.

Archie texted me also to help him in his report. I was planning to go to there house by 11pm but it turn out that my body wanted me to sleep. I was not able to go there because i still have a 10:30am class, not able to finish the docu also.

Since Leizl’s Mom is working as a Medical Technologist in Davao Medical Center she is the one who always do the follow-ups for our client like in setting for an appointment. This time around, in the morning she texted me that i will be meeting with Lyra one of the staff in the Davao Blood Transfusion Service. She happens to be my former classmate while i was taking my Medical Technology course.

The scheduled appointment was before lunch time. She was so suprised upon seeing me. She introduced me to her interns. Everytime i see my former classmates working it always makes me kinda feel sad because i am still studying but anywayz its okay. Going back, she handed me the different papers regarding the Davao Blood Transfusion Service. I got them photocopied like the policies, flow charts, vision-mission, objectives and etc…

After that, i went to school to have our other proposal letters be signed. Thank God our dean was there! I also waited for my other groupmate to arrive before we will go to Leizl’s house so that we could continue doing our docu for the thesis.

on reporting

Two groups has been assigned to do the presentation for Chapter 10 in the System Analysis and Design. Saturday and Sunday my group together with Lorei’s group went to the house of Leizl to do the brainstorming. Two of Lorei’s group were not present maybe because they have important things to attend to.

I read the whole chapter and divide the topics. I also discussed to them the things that i have understood, edit the slides and assigned them to draw different conceptual modesl basing on the book. I was very happy with the experienced that we have had because i was able to share what i have learned.

In the school, they also asked me for some reviews. Two of the members who were not present during the brainstorming was given the task to do some edits on their slides.

I was happy during the presentation time because my members really did their best also Jurry and Harvey. Natapos na rin ang report at least nalessen ang burden namin.

*We are very excited for the ITE Festival.

Different Forms [data]

We scheduled for an appointment to the head of the Blood Bank Transfusion Service but when we arrived there she was not there so we waited for a while.

After waiting for about 15 mins, Leizl and I decided to why not went to the nearby pharmacy stores and ask for the managers if we could proposed a system to them. We went to Botika ng Bayan, unfortunately they just had their system being replaced months ago. She was very accomodating and even suggested to why not try those other pharmacy stores who still doesn’t have a system. We also went to the other pharmacy but same thing in our previous experiences in looking for possible companies they are not willing to invest in an automated system and the incharge is not around.

We went back to the DMC, since the head is still not around one of the staff entertained us. She explained to us the flow of activities they had from receiving the blood up to the recording and other matters. We were able to picture out that our scope is not actually small but a big one since we will be handling different records from different departments. It was a combination of record and inventory plus the Nurse station, Ward, Medtech department and other patient’s corner.

We got to talk to the clerk also and he is just kind. We stayed there for almost 2 hours with our stomach growling because we still have not taken our breakfast. We have met so many patients and we’re looking for the different forms they have issued.

Here are the names of the different papers(forms) we have gathered:

1. Blood Bank Monitoring Card

2. Rquest form for thawing of fresh frozen plasma bag, thawing of cryoprecipitate/cryosupermate and others

3. Blood Typing

4.Issuance of Transfusion Service ( with corresponding prices)

5. Compatibility Test Results

6. Blood Pool Withdrawal/Replacement Slip

7. Claim Stub

8. Request for Crossmatching

9. Waiver for Release of Uncrossmatched Blood

10. Blood Transfusion Form

11. Acknowledgement of Blood Deposit

12. Waiver of Blood Transfusion Service

We were so satisfied with the meeting. We learned so many things.
